المسيح شخصية تاريخية: ولد في أرضنا وترعرع عليها; وألقى تعاليم أصبحت خالدة. صارت هذه التعاليم، بأكثرها، أقوالاً مأثورة يرددها القاصي والدّاني ويستشهد بها اللاهوتيون والفلاسفة والمربون والمفكرون. أحدثت هذه التعاليم تغييرًا جذريًا في التفكير البشري والقيم الإنسانية.

تحدّى المسيح السائد والتقليد والموروث، وأتى بفكر جديد ما قرأه مفكر إلا وتوقف عنده، بل وغاص في أعماقه; لكن لم يستطع إنسان أن يصل الى قعر هذا الفكر لأن لا حدود لعمقه. وكلما قرأه أخذ منه جديدًا. ومنذ أن أطلق المسيح تعاليمه، والناس يقرأونها ويعيدون قراءتها ولم يدع أحد بعد أنه استطاع أن يستنفذ كل معانيها.

إن لب هذه التعاليم هو التعليم عن المحبة والغفران. فبالمحبة، الضعف يغلب القوة، والفقر يغلب الغنى والصبر على الضّيم ينتصر. القوة الحقيقية تكمن في التواضع والحرية والعدالة والمساواة. هذه هي القيم التي نادى بها المسيح وأسس عليها ملكوته. ولعل أروع ما في هذه التعاليم هو أن المسيح أبرز بها وجه الله الحقيقي، هذا الوجه الذي كان مختفيًا تحت تراكمات الحضارات البشرية.

Christ is a historical figure: Born in our land and raised on it; He delivered teachings that have become immortal. Most of these teachings became statements uttered and cited by theologians, philosophers, educators and intellectuals. These teachings radically changed human thinking and human values.

Christ challenged the prevailing tradition and heritage and presented a new thought that makes every intellectual reader stop, think, and even plunge into its depths; but no one can reach the bottom of this thought because there is no limit to its depth. The more he reads it, the more new things he can take from it.

Since Jesus launched his teachings, people have read and reread them and no one has yet claimed that he has extracted all their meanings.

Love and forgiveness is the core of these teachings. Love overcomes weakness, force overpowers poverty, and patience triumphs in adversity. True strength lies in humility, freedom, justice and equality. These are the values ​​Christ called for and founded His kingdom on. Perhaps the most remarkable of these teachings is that Christ showed the true face of God, the face that was concealed under the accumulation of human civilizations.
